WA commission considers new Columbia River bridge

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) -- The Columbia River Crossing is a big item on the agenda for the Washington state Transportation Commission's meeting Monday and Tuesday in Vancouver.

The crossing is the $3 billion project to replace the Interstate 5 bridge and rebuild the freeway between Portland and Vancouver.

The Columbian reports (http://bit.ly/sbrxQI ) the seven-member commission is meeting with regional officials Monday and taking public comment at 4:30 p.m. at the Port of Vancouver. Commissioners tour the project area on Tuesday.
