TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — Police in Western Washington were searching medical marijuana facilities.

The News Tribune reports that officers executed search warrants Tuesday on five dispensaries in Thurston County and five in Pierce County.

No arrests had been made in conjunction with those warrants.

Thurston County Sheriff’s Lt. Greg Elwin says dispensary workers were being detained and questioned. However he says police were not targeting legitimate medical marijuana patients. Medical cannabis is legal under Washington state law.
