In one simple drawing, the Oct. 30 political cartoon clearly and concisely observes what has been the Republican mantra for the last three years: If Obama does it, there’s something wrong with it; find something “possibly” detrimental — no matter how ridiculous, as probability is not a concern — and chastise Obama for it.
The cartoon shows an announcement that Republicans are lambasting Obama for stating the sun will rise tomorrow by blaming him for “contributing to higher skin cancer rates.”
Of course, it is just a joke. But if Obama single-handedly cured cancer, they would blame him for putting cancer research groups out of work and adding to the jobless problem.
Hey, let’s elect a Republican in 2012; then we can bury our heads in the sand, pretend global warming doesn’t exist, roll back all workplace safety regulations and become like an Asian country working underage children to death for 18 cents a day, knowing they will be thankful that the government only takes 3 cents of that if Rick Perry is elected, or just under 1 cent if Herman Cain is elected. No new taxes. Welcome to the United States of Poverty.
