MONTREAL (AP) — The Montreal Canadiens say defenseman Hal Gill has been hospitalized because of an undisclosed ailment.
The team would only say Thursday that Gill has a virus. He has missed three games, including Thursday night at the New York Islanders. Montreal’s game notes said Gill had sat out two games because of the flu.
The Canadiens will host the New York Rangers on Saturday, and Gill isn’t likely to play.
