SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Jamar Gulley and Kyle Weems each scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lift Missouri State to a 71-45 win over Emporia State on Saturday night.
The Bears (3-0) were up 33-28 at halftime and pulled out of reach in the second half. They finished shooting 24 of 52 from the field, including making 9 of 23 tries from 3-point range.
The Hornets (1-1) led during much of the first half, including taking a 28-22 advantage about five minutes before halftime. But the Bears then went on a 14-0 run, stretching into the second half, and never trailed again.
Tola Lawal led the Hornets with a game-high 14 points while Antonio DiMaria added 12, including a game-high four 3-pointers. Emporia State made just 16 of 45 tries from the field.
