Texas-Arlington defeats Louisiana Tech 68-61

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Kevin Butler had 17 points and Bo Ingram added 11 as Texas-Arlington defeated Louisiana Tech 68-61 on Saturday night.

Jordan Reves had eight points and 13 rebounds for the Mavericks (2-0).

Trevor Gaskins led the Bulldogs (1-1) with 22 points and seven rebounds, and Cordarius Johnson added 11 points.

Butler’s two free throws gave Texas-Arlington a 47-46 lead with 9:03 remaining. Then, Ingram’s 3-pointer ignited a 12-3 run over a span of 3:18 that gave the mavericks a 59-49 lead with just under six minutes to play.

Texas-Arlington joins Louisiana Tech in the Western Athletic Conference next year.
