Neighbors rescue women, baby from Spokane fire
Sunday, November 20, 2011
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Firefighters say neighbors rescued two women and a baby from a burning house in Spokane.
Assistant Fire chief Brian Schaeffer told KXLY they did a wonderful job Sunday morning when fire broke out in the north Spokane home.
One neighbor who heard screams, 18-year-old Jeremy Driskell, broke a window and pulled an older woman into the yard. She was taken to a hospital with severe burns.
Other neighbors caught a baby that was dropped from a second-floor window by the mother before she jumped. The mother and baby were treated for smoke inhalation.
