Central Michigan defeats Pepperdine 67-57

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Trey Zeigler had 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists to lead Central Michigan to a 67-57 victory over Pepperdine on Monday night.

Derek Jackson scored 12 points, Andre Coimbra 11 and Austin McBroom 10 for the Chippewas (2-1), who never trailed. They led 33-25 at halftime and went up by as many as 17 in the second half.

Taylor Darby and Joshua Lowery scored 12 points apiece for the Waves (2-2), who shot just 29.3 percent (17 of 58) from the floor, compared to Central Michigan’s 51.0 percent (25 of 49).
