MACON, Ga. (AP) — Nate Wolters had 23 points, leading four double-figure scorers for South Dakota State in a 79-71 win against Niagara on Monday.

Tony Fiegen added 14 points, Griffan Callahan 13 and Brayden Carlson 11 for the Jackrabbits (2-2), playing in the opening game of the Progressive CBE Classic’s subregional round. Wolters led South Dakota State with six free throws (on nine attempts), three assists and two steals.

The Jackrabbits led by just two points at the break and Juan’ya Green’s jumper tied the game at 34-all for the Purple Eagles. But Chad White’s three-point play on a layup started a 13-5 South Dakota State run to take control.

The Jackrabbits never trailed again.

South Dakota State was edged on the boards 39-38 but forced 19 Niagara turnovers.

Antoine Mason led the Purple Eagles (1-2) with 26 points and Green added 18.
