MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Jackson County, Ore., sheriff’s officers say evidence indicates that the deaths of two people found early Tuesday at a Shady Cove residence were a murder-suicide. However spokeswoman Andrea Carlson says the case remains under investigation until the medical examiner has a chance to review it.
The Medford Mail Tribune reports both suffered gunshot wounds.
Carlson says the body of 30-year-old Makiala Lynn Upton was found in the home. The body of 36-year-old Dewayne Garrett Upton was found outdoors, with a handgun near his body.
Officers had responded to a report of shots being fired.
