Bagley Downs — A $3,000 donation from Wells Fargo to the nonprofit technology recycling shop Empower Up means children in low-income families will receive free used computers.
Empower Up, located at 5000 East Fourth Plain Boulevard, refurbishes or recycles hundreds of computers a year, and donates many to children who can’t afford them. It also operates a resale shop and provides computer training for local residents.
The Wells Fargo gift will help Empower Up pursue its mission. It has diverted more than 3.5 million pounds of computer waste from landfills. To learn more, donate or volunteer, visit http://www.empowerupnow.org or call 360-735-0888.
