FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones is expected to be back at practice on Thursday.

Coach Mike Smith says the Falcons (6-4) are hopeful of getting the rookie back on the field for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings (2-8), assuming he can get through a couple of practices without reinjuring his ailing right hamstring.

Jones missed two games with a strained left hamstring, then hurt his right hamstring in his second game back, an overtime loss to New Orleans. He did not play in last weekend’s victory over Tennessee and hasn’t practiced since the Saints game.

Even with all the missed time, Jones ranks third on the team with 30 receptions for 498 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
