Appalachian State beats Milligan 81-58

BOONE, N.C. (AP) — Andre Williamson had 13 points and a career-high 18 rebounds, and Isaac Butts recorded 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead Appalachian State past Milligan 81-58 on Saturday.

Milligan (2-4) took a one-point lead, 23-22, on a Torian Sitton layup. But it was the last time Milligan would see the lead. From there, Appalachian State went on a 22-7 run to take a 44-29 advantage into halftime.

Appalachian State (3-2) would continue its hot shooting in the second half, hitting 57.1 percent (16 for 28) from the field and outscoring Milligan 37-29.

Milligan was led by 12 points from Kyle Grisby but no other Buffaloes player scored above seven points in the game.

Appalachian State outscored Milligan 50-30 in the paint and received 37 points from the bench compared to just 24 for the Buffaloes.

Rodney Milum scored 12 points and G.J. Vilarino added 10 for the Mountaineers.
