BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — A pastor at a church in Bremerton has discovered a man’s body in a pickup truck, accompanied by a sign warning that the truck could explode.

Investigators are responding. Kitsap County sheriff’s deputy Scott Wilson says the man apparently committed suicide — possibly by inhaling a toxic gas in the cab of the truck, which was parked at Family of God Lutheran Church in East Bremerton. The man left a sign that read: “Do not come near. Truck will explode. Danger is gas.”

Pastor Sigi Helgeson found the sign as she arrived for Sunday morning services and called police.

Wilson says a hazardous materials team from Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor is en route. No homes have been evacuated.

Helgeson tells the AP she didn’t recognize the truck, and the description of the young man inside did not match anyone who attended the church. Sunday services were canceled.
