CLARK COUNTY — The Washington State Patrol has more than 50 open positions for new state troopers, and anyone interested in testing for basic training can still download an application, fill it out and bring it to the academy by 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The WSP Academy is at 631 W. Dayton Airport Road in Shelton.

The testing includes push-ups, sit-ups and a 1.5 mile run, so applicants are advised to dress for that and bring a change of clothes, according to a WSP bulletin.

To obtain an application or learn more about the testing, visit http://wsp.wa.gov/employment/trooper.htm.

Or contact a recruiter: Trooper Pete Stock, Western Washington, pete.stock@wsp.wa.gov or Trooper Tina Wallman, Eastern Washington, tina.wallman@wsp.wa.gov.
