BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Browns return specialist Josh Cribbs is one of three Cleveland starters not practicing because of injuries.

Cribbs sustained a “slight” knee sprain during Sunday’s loss to Tennessee. He was not on the field Tuesday as the Browns (2-2) began their bye week.

Also missing were Pro Bowl center Alex Mack, who underwent an appendectomy on Monday, and cornerback Joe Haden, who sprained his knee in the loss. Mack played the entire game despite feeling sick and needing intravenous fluids before kickoff.

Coach Pat Shurmur said Monday that he expected Haden to miss some time, but didn’t want to speculate how long Cleveland could be without its top defensive back.

After Monday’s workout, Shurmur is giving his team the remainder of the week off.
