NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — The New Jersey Devils have reached an affiliate agreement with the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings for the 2011-12 season.

Under the arrangement, both New Jersey and Albany may assign players to Kalamazoo. The announcement was made by Devils Senior Vice President, Hockey Operations Chris Lamoriello on Tuesday.

Lamoriello says the deal will allow the Devils organization to develop their players. The Devils operated an ECHL team in Trenton for years but they ceased operations of that team this past summer.

The Kalamazoo Wings are now associated with two NHL teams, New Jersey and Vancouver.
