Three teens convicted of shooting cats in the Battle Ground area will be sentenced this afternoon.

Sentencing for Mitchell Kangas, 16, Jaren Koistinen and Riley Munger, both 17, is set for 2:30 p.m. before Clark County Superior Court Judge Rich Melnick.

Kangas and Koistinen pleaded guilty Sept. 14 to 12 counts of first-degree animal cruelty and drive-by shooting relating to a three-month shooting spree.

Munger, who said he participated in only one night’s shooting, pleaded guilty to two counts of animal cruelty.

Kangas and Koistinen face between a year to two years at a juvenile institution. Munger faces about a month in juvenile hall.

The story will be updated after the afternoon hearing.
