LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) -- Metal thieves are the likely suspects in the disappearance of dozens of storm drain gates, water meter lids and manhole covers in Longview.
The Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/n2pKyS ) each storm drain gate costs the city about $115 to replace. A 75-pound storm drain gate would be worth about $10 as scrap metal
Three men who were arrested last month while removing steel pins from a roadside barrier had a catch basin grate in their pickup truck.
