SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Jazz have completed their coaching staff by hiring Sidney Lowe.

Lowe spent the past five seasons as head coach at his alma mater, North Carolina State.

He also was a teammate of Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin when they played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1989-90.

As a player, Lowe was a second-round pick of the Chicago Bulls. He appeared in 193 regular-season games over four NBA seasons with five different teams: Indiana, Detroit, Atlanta, Charlotte and Minnesota.

While at N.C. State, Lowe teamed with former Jazz player Thurl Bailey to lead the Wolfpack to the 1983 national championship.

He joins Scott Layden and Jeff Hornacek on the bench under Corbin, who took over late last season after Jerry Sloan’s abrupt retirement.
