THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) — Brad Faxon won the Insperity Championship without hitting a shot on Sunday, when heavy rain forced the Champions Tour to end the event after 36 holes.

Faxon led Tommy Armour III by one shot after finishing two rounds at 10-under 134 and became the winner when the tournament was called off following two rain delays at The Woodlands Country Club.

Faxon earned his first victory on the 50-and-over circuit in his sixth start. He is the first player since Leonard Thompson in 1998 to win a 36-hole tournament that was declared official because of bad weather.
