North Texas defeats Florida Atlantic 31-17

DENTON, Texas (AP) — North Texas returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a span of 10 seconds Saturday en route to a 31-17 victory over Florida Atlantic.

Royce Hill picked off a pass from Graham Wilbert and returned it 85 yards for a score with 7:21 remaining in the third quarter. On Florida Atlantic’s next play from scrimmage, Wilbert was intercepted again, this time by Steven Ford who returned it 15 yards for a touchdown and a 24-0 North Texas lead.

Lance Dunbar added 105 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Mean Green (2-4, 1-1 Sun Belt).

Alfred Morris had 162 yards rushing for Florida Atlantic (0-5, 0-2), including a 28-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Wilbert finished with three interceptions while completing 10 of 30 passes for 95 yards.
