McCarthy: Clifton’s hamstring injury ‘significant’

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says veteran left tackle Chad Clifton has a “significant” hamstring injury after leaving Sunday night’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The team has not established a timeline for Clifton’s return, but it sounds like Clifton will miss multiple games. McCarthy says it may be “a couple of weeks” before the Packers’ medical staff even has a full picture of how serious the injury is.

Clifton was bowled over by Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards in the second quarter and remained on the turf, clutching his right leg. He had to be helped to the sideline and then was carted to the locker room.

Green Bay already was missing right tackle Bryan Bulaga, who missed his second straight game with a knee injury.
