Letter: Republicans are just plain mean

The Columbian
Published: October 12, 2011, 5:00pm

I have never been more appalled by the reactions of the Republican Party to whatever our president and his party have suggested and/or asked for.

What do they expect to gain from their arrogance and just plain meanness?

I thought we were a country that protects our citizens and wants what is the best for all of us.

These shenanigans sound more like children in school being bullies. What is it going to take before they can agree on anything? I am so tired of their pettiness and stupidity. I hope President Obama does get them all out. We need a government that stands by the people of this country who are hurting and impoverished and don’t have jobs. Do these Republicans think this behavior is going to get them re-elected?

I applaud the people who are down on Wall Street and in Portland taking a stand finally.

Maybe some good will come from it. I think the Republicans have gone too far this time, and I hope they are held accountable for their actions and inactions.
