WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) — The Chelan County prosecutor says he’ll seek an exceptional sentence against a man accused of killing a Good Samaritan.
The Wenatchee World reports (http://bit.ly/mZqsDU ) Prosecutor Gary Riesen filed papers Wednesday citing a state law that allows stiffer penalties for people convicted of hurting others trying to provide aid.
Fifty-year-old Juan Manual Gonzalez-Gonzalez is charged with manslaughter in the death last June of 53-year-old Jose Guadalupe Garcia-Sevilla in Wenatchee.
Investigators say Garcia offered to help Gonzalez with his stalled van and Gonzalez punched him. He fell to the ground, struck his head and died of a skull fracture.
