MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A 50-year-old Medford man who had struggled with police collapsed and died.
The Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/op33b4 ) Jackson County sheriff’s detectives are investigating Thursday’s death of Scott Joseph Carlson.
Residents near Medford reported he had been throwing things and banging on doors at 3:30 in the morning. The sheriff’s office says he struggled with Phoenix and Talent police officers who were the first to arrive.
After he was handcuffed he went into medical distress. Officers gave him first aid. He was rushed to Rogue Valle Medical Center where he died.
