LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — A freight train delivered soy beans from South Dakota to the EGT terminal at the Port of Longview Thursday as about 70 Longshore demonstrators protested peacefully nearby.

The Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/oqzv28 ) it was the second delivery in two weeks at the terminal without incident. Union officials say they don’t plan to block more trains because they want to avoid additional fines.

A federal judge has fined the union $250,000 for violating a restraining order. Protesters tried to block tracks for two earlier trains and union members overran the terminal Sept. 8 and caused damage.

The labor dispute continues in court and before a federal mediator.
