ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Richard Cue’s 1-yard TD run capped a 13-point comeback by South Carolina State in a 23-13 win over Georgia State on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (4-3) trailed 13-10 in the third quarter before Blake Erickson put them on top with field goals of 34 and 32 yards.
South Carolina State then went on a 16-play, 80-yard drive finished off by Cue’s touchdown run with 5:23 remaining to hand the Panthers their fifth straight loss.
The Panthers committed their third turnover of the game, all coming via interception, on the ensuing drive as Bo Schlechter’s pass was picked off by South Carolina State’s Donovan Richard on third-and-10 from the Panthers’ 34.
