BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — Transportation Safety Administration officials aren’t saying exactly what was in two pieces of luggage that looked so suspicious on X-rays they evacuated Bellingham International Airport Tuesday and called in a bomb squad.
Port of Bellingham spokeswoman Carolyn Casey told The Bellingham Herald (http://bit.ly/pR94yT ) authorities questioned a man and a woman believed to the owners of the luggage.
The Bellingham police bomb squad determined there wasn’t anything harmful in the luggage. Casey said the items inside the bags were configured in a weird way.
Two airplane departures were delayed and about 50 people were moved outside the terminal during the two-hour evacuation.
