Camas Councilwoman Linda Dietzman now has opposition in her re-election bid.

Steve Bang, a business development veteran in the high-tech industry, has declared himself a write-in alternative to Dietzman, citing fellow community residents’ frustrations with Dietzman.

Bang criticized Dietzman in a written release for her “lack of transparency and public involvement” with regard to her service as a representative of Camas-Washougal on the C-Tran board.

Among Bang’s top issues is prioritizing city services to save taxpayer dollars, he said, adding he hoped to use his business experience to help grow living-wage employment in Camas.

Bang and his wife, Sarah, have lived in Camas since 1999.
