A free workshop Saturday will give participants tips on how to plant a tree properly.

Staff from the city of Vancouver’s Urban Forestry program will give demonstrations and answer questions. They’ll also offer a hands-on activity for attendees to help plant 38 trees and more than 200 shrubs in the Fisher’s Landing area.

The workshop is part of TreeTalk, a series of tree-related events sponsored by Urban Forestry. Tools and gloves will be provided for Saturday’s activities.

The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will gather in the Fisher’s Landing neighborhood at 18901 S.E. 41st Drive.

Space is limited. People can register by calling 360-487-8308, or contacting Urban Forestry at urbanforestry@cityofvancouver.us.

More information is available at www.cityofvancouver.us/urbanforestry.
