Teen killed, 4 injured in collision near Madras

MADRAS, Ore. (AP) — A 17-year-old driver was killed and four other people were injured when her car collided with another car Sunday on Highway 26 near Madras.

Oregon State Police say when the teen’s car drifted onto the shoulder she over-corrected and hit the oncoming car. She died at the scene. A 17-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and she was taken to a hospital in Madras.

The driver of the other car, a 38-year-old Portland woman, and her two children, ages 8 and 12, were taken to a Madras hospital with minor injuries.
