ATLANTA (AP) — Washington Nationals right fielder Laynce Nix has left a game against the Atlanta Braves after straining his right groin.

Nix walked in the second inning Thursday night and advanced to third base on Chris Marrero’s single. He was replaced in right field by Rick Ankiel in the bottom of the third.

The Nationals did not say how Nix was injured. His status is day to day.

Nix is hitting .257 with 16 homers and 43 RBIs.
