BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — High-profile Canadian sports doctor Anthony Galea’s sentencing for bringing unapproved drugs into the United States has been postponed from October until December.

Galea’s attorneys sought the delay, saying they need more time to prepare. It’s now set for Dec. 16 in U.S. District Court in Buffalo.

Galea is a healing specialist who’s helped big-name athletes including Tiger Woods come back from injuries.

He pleaded guilty in July to bringing unapproved drugs, including human growth hormone, across the border. As part of his plea, he agreed to cooperate with investigators and disclose the identities of his patients and their treatments.

In exchange, prosecutors are expected to seek a prison sentence of 12 to 18 months.

Woods has said he’s been treated by Galea but didn’t receive performance-enhancing drugs.
