RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) -- Brazil's government statistics institute says the country's economy grew 0.8 percent in the second quarter of 2011.

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics says in a statement that growth was slower compared to a first-quarter expansion of 1.2 percent.
