YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) — Search crews are looking for a 69-year-old Washington man who disappeared while on a backpacking trip through Yosemite National Park.

Officials say Gene Hall was last seen at the Vogelsang High Sierra Camp by a group of hikers on Tuesday.

He was reported missing when he did not return to his car on Thursday.

About 65 search and rescue workers on the ground are looking for Hall, while helicopter crews are also searching from the air.

Yosemite officials believe that Hall may have climbed Vogelsang Peak during his trip, a popular but challenging summer hike.
