COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) — Authorities in Lane County seized 400 marijuana plants and more than $20,000 in cash from a rural property south of Cottage Grove.

The Register Guard reports (http://bit.ly/r9QTGO) that six people were cited in connection with the raid, which resulted from an investigation that began more than a year ago.

Investigators suspect that marijuana from the property has been sold illegally in Oregon and California.

Sheriff’s officials say investigators found marijuana plants growing both inside and out on the 40-acre property. They say the outdoor plants were growing in neat rows, and some mature plants appeared to be more than 6 feet tall.

Investigators say an unspecified number of the suspects are state-registered medical marijuana patients or growers, but the amount of pot far exceeds legal limits.
