OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Athletics center fielder Coco Crisp has been scratched from the starting lineup for tonight’s game against the Kansas City Royals.
No reason was given by the team why Crisp was removed but he missed the previous two games because of a sore right foot. Crisp fouled a ball off the foot during Saturday’s game against Seattle.
Cliff Pennington was moved up in the order to take Crisp’s slot behind leadoff hitter Jemille Weeks. Ryan Sweeney replaced Crisp in the lineup.
