DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Chad Henne will start another season opener for the Miami Dolphins, to the surprise of some and consternation of many.

The Dolphins talked of upgrading at quarterback this summer and considered trading for Denver’s Kyle Orton, then decided to stick with Henne — at least for now. He’s back as the starter Monday against the New England Patriots,

At an August scrimmage in the Dolphins’ stadium, restless fans chanted, “We want Orton!” Former teammate Channing Crowder said Henne lacked a winning touch. Pundits coast to coast said the Dolphins had no chance at the playoffs without a change at quarterback.

But Miami’s season likely depends on Henne showing improvement. The only other quarterback on the roster is Carolina Panthers castoff Matt Moore.
