INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts are going back to their old mantra Sunday: next man up.

For more than a decade, that’s been the rallying cry whenever injuries struck the Colts. Until now, the phrase has never involved a quarterback, and until now, everyone else saw Peyton Manning as carrying the Colts.

With Manning out for at least two months and perhaps for the entire season after having another neck surgery Thursday, the players in the Colts’ locker room are ready to prove they can still win despite losing their most prominent player.

The challenge begins at Houston, a team that believes it is ready to break up Indy’s monopoly of the AFC South title.
