ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Oakland Athletics have recalled catcher Landon Powell from Triple-A Sacramento.
Powell was on the A’s opening-day roster and hit .176 in 32 games before he was optioned to Sacramento on Aug. 22.
Powell batted .283 with a homer and five RBIs in 12 regular-season games in the minors, then went 1 for 11 in three playoff games for the River Cats.
Oakland announced the move before it faced Texas on Saturday.
