Three people were injured in a two-car accident on Monday morning at the intersection of Northeast Fourth Plain Road and 107th Avenue in Orchards.

Two women in their 40s and one pre-teen boy were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, said Capt. Kevin Murray with the Vancouver Fire Department.

Their injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening.

The 10:15 a.m. collision, between a “VW-Bug-type car” and an SUV, was believed to be a relatively minor incident, but when firefighters arrived on the scene, they called for more resources, Murray said.

Public works was called to the scene to clean up spilled oil or coolant, Vancouver Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

Names and conditions of those involved in the accident were not available.
