Letter: Reject Obama’s spending

The Columbian
Published: September 15, 2011, 5:00pm

The Sept. 9 story “Obama urges $450 billion jolt” is a pure and simple economic scheme pushed onto the public in hopes of getting himself re-elected in 2012. This so-called “jobs bill” is nothing more than another failed tax-borrow-and-spend stimulus plan identical to the last one for $800 billion. The height of stupidity is to believe that we can keep doing things the same, old, failed way and yet now somehow expect different results. President Obama is trying to make a new salad out of old lettuce with his political maneuvering, and when the Republican House rejects it, he will accuse them of standing in the way of progress, thus paving the way for his election in 2012. Reminds us of what they say about a dead horse. It won’t work.
