Injured woman is flown from B.G.-area wreck to hospital

A serious-injury crash was reported about 9:45 p.m. Friday, east of Battle Ground, and a Life Flight air ambulance was called to land at the nearby Tukes Valley schools.
Fire District 3 and Clark County Fire & Rescue responded to the two-vehicle crash.
An initial investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office indicates one of the vehicles was eastbound on Northeast 219th Street at a high speed. The other vehicle had been traveling north on Northeast 194th Avenue and was turning west onto 219th Street.
The driver traveling eastbound hit the turning vehicle, injuring three people, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Firefighters used heavy tools to extricate a woman from a vehicle and she was taken by ground ambulance to the helicopter.

Firefighters radioed that she was semiconscious and that the crash “caused heavy intrusion” into her car, which was apparently hit in the side.
Two others were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center by AMR Northwest ambulance. Chief Steve Wrightson of Fire District 3 said their injuries weren’t thought to be life-threatening.
Wrightson said the collision happened on residential roads where speeds fast enough for such an impact wouldn’t be expected.
