ROME (AP) — In the wake of violence that marred the last game, there will be no section of visiting fans for Italy’s European Championship qualifier at Serbia next month.

The Italian soccer federation says that in accordance with the Serbian federation and European soccer’s ruling body, Italy did not purchase any tickets for the match.

Italy already has qualified, and Italian federation general director Antonello Valentini tells RAI state radio there were no fan requests for tickets for the Oct. 7 game in Belgrade.

UEFA awarded Italy a 3-0 win over Serbia after the match in Genoa last October. The game was stopped in the seventh minute with the score 0-0 because of violent Serbia fans.
