LOS ANGELES (AP) — A seven-men, five-woman jury has been selected to hear the involuntary manslaughter case of Michael Jackson’s doctor.

The panel was selected Friday after hours of questioning of prospective jurors by a judge, defense attorneys and prosecutors. The group was asked numerous questions, including whether they regarded the singer as childlike and how they feel about police.

Opening statements in the case are expected to begin Tuesday.

The selection process was closely guarded, with bailiffs marching 84 prospective jurors into Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor’s courtroom. Ten were quickly dismissed because they no could no longer serve for the roughly five weeks the case is expected to take.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to giving Jackson a lethal dose of the anesthetic propofol in June 2009.
