TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State cornerback and return specialist Greg Reid is in trouble again– this time with the police.

Reid was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Monday by Tallahassee police on charges of resisting arrest and perjury. The police report indicated Reid was trying to protect a friend from his hometown of Valdosta, Ga., who was being pursued for resisting arrest after being stopped earlier by police.

School officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Reid didn’t play in Saturday’s 35-30 loss at Clemson and was suspended the second game of the season for violating an unspecified team rule. Reid sat out the Clemson game with a bruised right knee he suffered in the 23-13 loss to Oklahoma on Sept. 17.

The 21-year-old led the nation in punt returns two years ago as a freshman.
