TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says the driver of a stolen pickup truck was trying to speed away from a trooper when he lost control and crashed on Interstate 5 in Pierce County.
The patrol says the man was ejected and died Wednesday night at the scene.
The News Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/oU6dDR ) a trooper had spotted the truck swerving in traffic.
Trooper Guy Gill says the driver refused to pull over and was going more than 80 mph when the pickup overturned in the median. The truck had been stolen from the Tacoma area.
