KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Viktor Troicki beat Dmitry Tursunov of Russia 6-4, 6-4 on Friday to reach the Malaysian Open semifinals.
The second-seeded Serb failed to serve out the match at 5-2 in the second set but held on for victory at Putra Stadium. Earlier this year, Troicki reached the final in Sydney and the semifinals in Rotterdam, but lost both.
Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus also earned a semifinal berth, defeating fourth-seeded Jurgen Melzer of Austria 6-3, 7-6 (3).
