GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes are still without an owner.
Unlike the past two seasons, they have some financial flexibility.
Despite being run by the NHL for the third straight year, Phoenix was aggressive in the offseason, locking up key young players while adding veterans like Daymond Langkow, Mike Smith and Raffi Torres.
The team has some money left over, too, in case they want to add someone else.
Despite an uncertain future, Phoenix made the playoffs each of the past two seasons, but lost in the first round each time. The Coyotes are hoping their offseason moves will lead to a deeper run this year.
